Is it different price for drywall installation on the walls and ceiling?

Usually on a bigger drywall projects installation of sheetrock on the walls and ceiling proportionally divided and there are no such thing as price for drywall installation on ceiling or walls in itemized estimate from a drywall contractor. But if a homeowner will hire an installer for the ceiling work only, or for the walls work only, the price will be 5% - 10% lower for plasterboard installation on the walls due to work simplicity.

Does the thickness of a drywall sheet will impact the cost of installation?

The thinner sheetrock is the less it weight and easier to work with while hanging, but finishing is the same process for any drywall. Usually thickness of gypsum boards will not affect the cost of installation significantly. Difference in labor expense between installation and finishing two of the most common used thicknesses of a drywall 1/2" or 5/8" will not exceed 10%.
